Ward Dilmore

Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass

Dilmore is a graduate with honors of the Interlochen Arts Academy and holds Bachelor and Masters degrees with honors from SUNY/Potsdam. Dilmore performed on cello at age 16 in Carnegie hall, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, The State Department in Washington, and Thames Hall in London, Ont. He is twice a concerto performer with symphony orchestra on cello and has been featured on NBC Radio.

Ward Dilmore has taught grades 3-College. In 1987, he started a Strings program in Wilmington, MA Public Schools with 12 students. The program now has 320 string student. Ward's HS Orchestra in Wilmington tours Europe every two years. They hav presented private command performances for the Mayor of Paris, the Lord Mayor of Huddersfiels, England, and the Mayor of Quebec. His orchestra also held a private concert for the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ireland. His work has been recognized with citations from the Massachusetts Legislature and John Kerry, Edward Kennedy, and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.

Ward is an Emmy-nominated composer who has created music for Kodak, Gillette, ABC, NBC, PBS, Showtime, and Chevrolet. On the PBS network, his music can be heard in the weekly series Ciao Italia, NH Crossroads, and NH Outlook. Dilmore won the Blue Ribbon at the American Film Festival for his orchestral score to the theatrical motion picture/documentory Coaster: The Adventure of the John Leavitt. He has released four CD albums.

He lives on a forty-acre estate in Hampton Falls where he records orchestral scores for TV and movies in his studio. His tow sons are musicians and his wife, Lorraine, is a potter.
